Guy's And St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust Rollout BigHand To Over 2,500 Users

BigHand has announced that two of London's most well-known
teaching hospitals - Guy's Hospital and St Thomas' Hospital, which make up Guy's and St Thomas' NHS
Foundation Trust, (one of the busiest NHS Foundation Trusts in the country), have now deployed BigHand
fully across the Trust's 22 directorates, with the inclusion of Evelina Children's Hospital, incorporating a
Trust wide software license for 2,500 users.


As a Trust, Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is well known for its investment in
technology and this is the latest in a long line of significant investments to make their internal processes
better and their service faster for the 900,000 patient contacts they have each year.


Beyond just replacing analogue tapes, the Trust has seamlessly integrated BigHand's digital dictation
system alongside the Trust's chosen outsourcing provider. The time, money and effort put in to ensure
BigHand is being utilised Trust wide has helped to improve efficiencies and cut turnaround times, providing
a firm platform for a single system which will integrate to other Trust IT systems in the future.


Cardiovascular Department was one of the first departments to use BigHand and is already realizing
tangible benefits. Rita Du'Pratt, the Cardiovascular Team Leader, commented;

The full rollout paves the way for the Trust to exploit further benefits from speech recognition technology.
In addition this rollout means that BigHand bolstered its own increasing experience in managing large NHS
